Allie Yee, APANO's Co-Executive Director, needed to optimize their development processes and prepare for a critical fundraising push, but they lacked a standardized workflow to confidently pursue major gifts, foundation prospects, and corporate sponsorships while paving the way to hire a dedicated leader.

  • Process Mapping: Audited APAN's development pipeline and organized it into a clear, sequential Moves Management framework (Identification→ Qualification→ Cultivation→ Solicitation→ Stewardship).

  • Resource Curation: Compiled localized lead databases, including regional corporate sponsor lists, foundations, and targeted networking avenues (like OAPABA).

  • Multi-Media Tool Integration: Embedded actionable assets—such as Loom walkthroughs, email templates, real-world audio examples, and data tools (iWave & RocketReach)—directly into the workflow to eliminate guesswork.

The final "Fundraisers With Fangs: Fundraising Toolkit" serves as an interactive, comprehensive operational playbook. Key areas of focus include:

  • Prospecting & Identification: Vetted regional leads and advanced software guides to uncover high-capacity donors.

  • The Donor Journey: Step-by-step guides for navigating donor discovery, assessing "LIA" (Linkage, Ability, Interest), and executing the perfect major donor "Ask."

  • Retention & Stewardship: Impact reporting templates and follow-up strategies designed to turn one-time donors into lifelong supporters.


The Impact

The depth and structure of this toolkit gave APAN the organizational confidence to hire a full-time Development Director. Because the toolkit explicitly maps out every stage of the fundraising lifecycle with ready-to-use assets, it doubles as the perfect onboarding manual to get the new director driving revenue on day one.
